    Oat prices

Anyone care to guess if oat prices would have been higher or lower today if it remained on the CWB? Would have the value added industries been built? Or would the oat industry have stalled out like wheat and barley have done?

Canola would be far too easy and obvious to ask about!

Sorry, I don't have my crystal balls handy. Your guess is as good as mine.

The year after oats was dropped from CWB control the price bottomed. I remember that because that was all that I grew that year.

I don't know, but I have grown oats ever since they have been on the open market so that I didn't have to put up with the wheat board. It has became a cash crop that I can actually convert to cash at any given time, not like the wheat board grains. Cash flow is the big thing on my farm.
