Marketing Recomedations for 2007-08

Can you guys give us marketing recommendations on a weekly basis for milling wheat and Canadian red winter wheat, and feed barley for the upcoming year? I'd like to then review your recommendations on July 31, 2008 to see how you did?

My marketing recomendation for these crops is THIS:

Each grower of each crop needs the right and the opportunity to have as close a personal relationship with the end user of their choice AS POSSIBLE and PRACTICAL...

Further that the co-operative spirit to support each other to maximise the value of the products both the producer grows and end user processes to attain the highest value and best economic return for both partners.

Risk management should be the resonsibility of the partner who is best skilled and willing to take on this responsibility... and they should be rewarded fairly for this skill, risk/responsibility value.

AS these kinds of relationships will mean as many different contracts, prices, responsibilities,intrinsic value, products, and volitility/time value componenets: as there are partners, people, and co-operators... I would expect complete flexibility to encourage and accomodate these opportunities... without taxes being syphoned off to the CWB pool accounts that kill these projects!

I would expect each partner to negotiate in good faith the opportunity that fits their risk reward capacity... sharing the prosperity with their community of the blessings of having food and energy to sell and buy!

1. That the CWB would allow, as the AUSIES have... DIrect contracting @$3.75/TCDN between Endusers and Growers:

2. That the CWB provide a 5 year opt out option for growers who sign out of the CWB system with no-cost export licenses as are given to Manufactured Feed User Export Exemption Licneses and Seed Export Licenses now;

3. That the CWB allow new generation co-operatives the right and opportunity to grow, process and sell their products globally with the help and blessing of the CWB sales and licensing dept.

BennyHin... If we do this our grain economy in the "designated area" will prosper... as will the CWB!

These are my recomendations for 2007-08!

Benny, I would be more than happy to give my recomendations to July/08. Those recomendations are my personal opinion.

The next 4-5 crops we grow up Wheat&Barley will be the best money the U.S.,Australia etc, will ever have seen. Unfourtunetly we Canadians will be sucking hind leg due to our CWB.

Question to you Benny. Ask Wheat growers in Ontario if they want to join our CWB??

Wilagro, you grow the grain, and let the CWB market it for you. Sorry to say you won't exist long.

Question to both of you guys what grains have been dragging your farm down the last 10 years?? Hmmm... was it canola,oats,feed barley,feed wheat,peas...nope it's been MAlT BARLEY, AND HRSW. Just who is that does that marketing for us again???

If you don't NEED any more services than the CWB offers... and you believe a fair price is being offered... by all means make the CWB your marketing partner!

Some of your neighbours need different marketing options... would you intentionally prevent them from working hard and trying to create value for their family and farm?

No one's taking the cwb away from you!! It'll always be yours to support if you so wish.

wedino: Then why the recommendation of the "new" CWB2 which will NOT be the same as the present CWB?

The "new" entity would be an entirely new concept, untried, and unwanted actually.

Let's not kid ourselves, the group that Strahl picked to advise him were totally viciously anti-CWB. They stuck the knife into the CWB and then gave a twist to make sure that it would hopefully die.

Keep in mind that the cwb would be operating in a commpetitive system?


Once upon a time this question could always be ignored. In fact, right up through the task force process, the cwb and the left deliberatly chose to ignore this question. The only thing they still wanted to do, was to debate the merits of the single desk.

If you guys don't like cwbtwo, let's see your version.

And please be realistic and not include a 1.5 billion dollar gift from the taxpayers.

By the way one of the biggest reasons why Measner got canned was because under his leadership the cwb refused to offer any proposal for operating without the monopoly.

It's comming down to crunch time and unless there is something, anything, semi-reasonable coming from the other side CWBII will become reality, the politics will sort themselves out and it will happen.

So to end where I began, what features are needed or desired?
