As a grain marketing consultant myself, just wanted to jump into the fray and add a few comments. There are new entrants into the business all the time and it is like anything else, a client needs to assess the landscape and see for themselves what each entity has to offer. Rates for the consulting varies by company, and like purchasing a vehicle, there are many options to consider when making your choice or commitment. I do not think the cookie cutter approach is valuable to a producer, rather someone that knows your business intimately and can bring a local flavor to your daily marketing decisions. Having experience in the industry, marketing savvy, and adding an unbiased voice, should add in a positive manner to all marketing decisions.
