    Nitrogen on the rise

I'm looking to prebuy some urea for spring, possibly even winter pickup. I've been hearing prices ranging anywhere from $320/t to $380/t, with talk of spring prices reaching the $440 mark again. I was quoted $367/t in central Alberta. What's out there?

I just came back from a conference where they were talking about the number of acres going into corn next year. If so, there will be a massive amount of demand for nitrogen. I think the fert companys are already starting to lick their lips. Heads up!

Local fertilizer dealer was told by his supplier that fertilizer manufacurers are looking at a 10% increase in US corn production for 2007. That increase would use more nitrogen fertilizer than all of Western Canada!
