Canola moving south to feed US crushing plant!

Really like this move their is no Canola in ND poor crop so VELVA is Empty, trucking costs are high so what does ADM do but offer premiums in Lloydminster of 0 -8 Basis and ships train loads down to their plant in ND thus keeping Jobs etc.
Canadian farmer near lloydminster gets a premium and plant in USA keeps in business.

Too bad they are only sourcing at Lloyd. Competition at other points would help to keep market firm. Basis is widening at many points.

I did read your post. I guess I find it so hard to understand your position because you don't know how to use English in the correct way!!

Well put TG. Saskfarmer I also find it hard to understand some of your comments due to your lack of good grammar. Mabye you have some kids in school that could help you with this. I would start with grade 3 Language Arts.

              Saskfarmer,

Thanks for the heads up. Might be part of the reason why we have strong futures and strong basis. Basis is changing daily, some may have to learn how to separate their basis and futures pricing.

i'm finding it tough to read basis signals these days with so much variability between buyers. lloyd's in the single digits (also heard 1 for deferred) but elevators next door are still 20 under.

one thing seems consistent - crushers are a good 10-15/t better than exporters today, canbra, bunge, clavet, etc.

usually the basis and futures are inversely related so if it really is weakening, that might signal it's time for a sale. but with these levels bid into the crushers it doesn't seem like time just yet.
