    Bird Flu Website

Just a note to highlight the following website on bird flu.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/world/05/bird_flu_map/html/1.stm

Not wanting to be alarmist but is something everyone should be monitoring. The disease is already impacting poultry demand in Europe and to a lesser extent North America.

And creating spillover weakness in a great many other Ag. commodities. How many producers would think bird flu would affect beef prices?

Maybe the North American poultry industry and the various Ag Departments -- knowing it is coming our way -- will try harder to make consumers aware of the fact they cannot catch H5N1 from buying chicken at the supermarket.

The FAO just came out and finally said that -- after spending months and months shouting as loud as possible that this strain of avian influenza was going to cause a flu pandemic and kill millions of people.

So much damage has been done my fear mongering politicians that it will take a prodigious effort to get people and the media to stop going cross eyed when H5N1 shows up in North America.
