    Locking in a fall price

    I've been trying to find sombody to try and support a fall lock in price for feedbarley the local elevators don't seem to want to touch anything past july.

    As a simple Strategy;

    Short the Dec 06 WPG Futures @ $136.50, wait till you are then offered a decent flat price contract; at that point then pull off your short futures position.

      The problem with that strategy and it's a big one is that there is no open interest in that contract (dec 06) and no bid at least not at $136.50.

        Very little open interest in Oct 06 as well although I noticed 500 mt traded at 134/mt yesterday. Put your orders out there, selling this number doesn't look so bad.
