Statistics Canada First Production Estimate Release

Just a note you can see the statcan production estimate at:

    http://www.statcan.ca/Daily/English/040824/d040824b.htm

Already three week old information/doesn't include recent weather. Provides a base to judge current crops.

Its BS Charlie that the USDA gets their info out in 5 days, and we take 23 days.

Its the same thing year, in year out.

If the Flintstones had stone tablets in 550 BC and today we have dual processor computers, should it take the same amount of time today as it did then?

Thats what STATSCAN would like you to believe.

Another little detail, can't imagine that anybody actually tells stats canada the truth, I know I sure don't!!!!!! Think it is just another waste of time and taxpayers money.

Since 1983, when the USDA has been issuing production reports for Canada, they have been more accurate than STASCAN and the CWB.

Not bad for satellite shots, no field men and no phone calls

The whole StatsCan thing IS BS, and it stinks.

They tell the world what we'll plant in Feburary. They have our production in the bin in July and they are telling the country now that our Net income is up 7% or whatever. What are they comparing that too? 7% more than last year when most of us took a 30% hit? Is that taking into account the higher prices that we have had to pay for inputs? What are their reference numbers to make these claim? and WHY do they slant it make it look like things aren't so bad out there?

Lets can the Stats Can when we get the chance........ I certainly don't give them the time of day, and we don't have to be polite to them when they call at meal time.
