Is anyone else concerned by the direction this is taking? So not only does the consumer supposedly get more back than what they pay in. Now the consumer is going to be exempt from paying CO2 tax on home eating oil, and the rest of the consumers complain that's not fair, so this you do tax will be removed from other home eating. What's next on the slippery slope drama home electricity, it's that can be used for heating and hot water and other necessities of life. In a while we're at it, why not gasoline for consumer vehicles, they are necessities of life as well in most places in this country.
Pretty soon the consumer is not paying CO2 tax on anything they consume, while still getting vote buying rebates back.
Which might sound like a really good deal. That means the only ones left paying the CO2 tax are industries. Energy intensive industries Will end up putting the entire bill for all of the rebates to consumers and all of the tax. Industries which cannot reduce their energy consumption. But still have to compete on the world stage.
Annette result being CO2 levels will not be affected whatsoever. Industry will be bankrupred workforced offshore.
Sounds like a lose lose situation

Consumers are already paying the carbon tax on the same item multiple times. That's the problem the rebates don't come close to what people are paying in tax. Trucking outfits, retailers, manufacturing companies all paying tax and passing it along and then you pay the tax on the tax GST etc. etc . It's the cash cow that keeps on giving.

Insanity. Make heating oil cheaper so people will switch to heat pumps. He has truly lost it.
This discrimtory tax cut will blow up in his face.

Unfortunately he never had it and the state of the country shows it.
