    Frost hit some late canola here the other day

          In this area , just east of here , standing . Was late seeded .
          Was -3 to -5 in area a few days ago
          Last Tuesday, sept 5

            Those crops were pretty green a week ago!! Had that 2 years ago the canola hopefully made good burgers

              To tell what damage is on that Canola seed, do a crush strip.

              If the damage is brown in the cotyledon… sprout heated damage… white seeds are most often indicating heating not frost damage.

              Too immature canola seeds…to see what the green seed damage will be when they are mature…. But heating damage and sprouts are indicated earlier…

              Blessings and wisdom…. Straight cutting can lead to heated / weathered kernels… which are discounted far more. More than A half a percent damage can be downgrade …for human consumption crush markets.

                  Don’t fret
                  My hands scarred, callused and dirty like most on here 16 hrs a day . Bloody every 2-3 days usually fixing some dam thing
