    Aeration cords

Thieves are out and about again
They cut the cords at the fans then stole the cords and plugs and all at a bin yard the neighbours have out at Maymont.
Not cheap to replace and a time consuming job now to get fans going again when no one has time that actually works .
Gotta love thrives with all that time on their hands , low life scumbags .

What are they intending to do with aeration cords?

Sounds like there might be more to the story. Wouldn't think you would get the price of gas to drive around taking cords for scrap or even resale.

We have a local encampment of known thieves squatting in a field with a collection of holiday trailers and stolen vehicles. With winter coming, I assume they need to get power out to their village. It would take a lot of aeration cords to reach the nearest neighbors who are somehow related to the degenerates.
          Perhaps something similar?

Probably just stolen for the copper though.

Criminals don’t always use logic and they didn’t pay for the gasoline and possibly the vehicle (another victim paid the bills). My guess is they drive into farm yards and steal everything they can without too much effort.

Like said above, criminals need to turn items into quick cash. Copper and batteries were the quick answer.

Supposedly in Alberta the recyclers are supposed to keep track of peoples names that bring in batteries and copper.

But recyclers and auto wreckers deal in cash and are quite corrupt

Farmers east of here are watching a dark fellow, maybe African, travelling around on these dusty dirt roads on an e-bike. Wonder what he is looking for 15-20 miles outta Regina. Not pretty when one of the grain semis pass him.
