Rains from 2/10 to 4/10s last night. Something I guess.

Canola coming out of bloom now. So lucky it had cool weather for the past few weeks.

Won’t be more than a dust settler here by the look of it.

We received 2+ inches of rain, NE Edmonton. Some barley fields are flat. I hope they spring back up tomorrow. Canola that didn't have any problems is coming out of bloom. Some pockets are starting to bloom. Should be able to see how well the pod shatter varieties work this year.

Wheat is variable. Some fields look okay from the road, some you can still see between the rows and some have the second crop of tillers growing past the main stem. At least another month of growing to do, quite the variety pack this year.

Extremes are the norm this year. Even varies a mile away.

That “rain” was about as about as helpful as a carbon tax rebate cheque……. Far too little , far too late to do any good

Was at AIM today, rained most of the day. Parking lot was a mud fest, guessing they got over a 1”, came home to a whole quarter inch including the rain from last night. At least someone benefitted with this moisture.

Areas here got up to 5”…. Most 1.5-2”…the flooded areas are like big spring melt… folks who tore up sad looking Canola… have big deep gullies in their fields…. Sad to say least as over 4” of this came in an hour.

Our Canola is filling in the blooming now in the poor patches … just like Crusher. A very big thanks for the rain… many prayers answered. 3” this month…so far… last year 1.5” in July . Warm weather now would be great here. Much hail repair work ahead… vehicles, buildings, our extra PKS Cu micro banded this spring hopefully will speed maturity along… pre-emerge edge and Fortress were a real blessing on the heavily hailed fields, also with good residual post planting herbicide activity appreciated as well as they are really thin as ground coverage just now starting to fill in on most hailed fields.

Blessings , Thanksgiving , and Prayers… interesting times as extra preparations were rewarded …courage needed!

                Cheers

4 tenths here. Could have used much more.
Kink of strange when NE Sask gets the short end of of a wide spread rain.
