Crops look good in our area despite only having 1.5 inches of rain in June. Nothing since fathers day though, getting very dry. Hay looks terrible although not the worst it's been in the last couple years. the 2 week forecast doesn't give a lot of hope either.

After Canada Day it’s cooling off here. Highs forecast to be just over 20, suits me fine.

Made a quick trip to RB Edmonton to look at some trucks......lots of patchy canola along the way especially around Edmonton and Vermillion.

Had almost all our moisture couple days after I finished seeding and that deluge did more harm than good.
That explains the same situation here almost perfectly.
Heavy rain early that did huge damage. Now the crop is trying to grow back and it’s getting dried right out and no rain forecast.
Flood to drought and it only took a month.

I don't usually agree with Kevin Hursh but he is right this one is no Bin buster even if it rained province-wide today.

Its a Proline Gold kind of day.

No wind and not that warm yet. plus smoky.

Add Maidstone to the patchy canola area, curious if anyone is from these areas, is it cutworms?

Dry in that strip, and some early worm pressure yup . Later seeded canola went into dry soil there in areas .
Yet just east they have very good crops in a strip Paynton through Delmas and in a north south line from Wilkie to Cutknife up to Edam Turtleford . But they have got nearly every rain at critical times . Not lots but at critical times when needed

There is a pile of canola acres that are not the greatest even into Central Sask.
