Snow basically gone here, my hoedrills and discers still froze to the ground ! It is warming up slowly and calving going good so far. Tired of bedding cows and locking them up at night. cleaning seed this weekend and working on my new to me feed truck that I hauled home yesterday. Here's to a good spring and a rain to get the grass growing , and no freeze/thaw at night !!!

Barley cleaned and have enough to do 1000 acres so if we get late and plans change were covered. If not sell as feed.

Big melt starts this week. Yard is going to be a swamp. Taking the top off this bin just in case it gets real soft around the buildings.

Discovered Friday thieves run away fast from the sound of a .223. Long story.

Boy does everyone else have snow compared to us.

Brought the cows home to start calving and hardly any snow needed pushing.
Kinda nice that a calf can fall out anywhere and be just fine. With the way the weather is next week fieldwork could start in the corn ground. Even the yard and silage pit is dried up which is very unusual. Never a good omen when the ground was bone dry last fall and no runoff this spring but sure makes life easy for now.

Ended up going on a last minute road trip and stopped by Drumheller to check out the dinosaur museum and hoodoo’s which the kids loved running around the hillside.
