    $650B US Farm Bill…

    US Farm Bill 2023…is projected to be $650B…. In Canada we had an Alberta Canola presentation this morning about Canada’s programs… AgriInvest AgriInsurance, AgriStability, Business Risk Management and Sustainability….$2.4B/year.

    US has no Capital Gains Tax… GST… Carbon Tax…

    Very interesting…. Bare Farm land selling at $27,000/ac US…

    Paradoxically… Canadian farmers…. Excluding Supply Management… are operating in a different dimension…. As are EU farmers….

    It is what it is… Australian farmers get 10x less support than Canadian farmers….

    It appears that down there you don't make seeding decisions until you fully understand the implications of the current government farm bills.
    But as you point out it ups the ante on expansion or new entries.

      Southern Ontario farmland sells for similar values as US midwest. Montana farmland is a bit cheaper than southern AB or SK. Food stamps are a part of the 650B as well so a bit different. Should add the value of supply management wealth transfers to the canuckistani subsidy equivalent. That would narrow the gap. Who collects agri stab money?
