“And to be clear, from what I see, that is not the case in the Netherlands, is it a land grab plain and simple, hiding behind the green agenda. And I fully support the farmers.”

That’s the whole point of this thread 👍 , we had better pay attention as most of our wealth is tied up in our private land landownership.
What the government of the Natherlands is doing is straight out of the UN 2030, Canada on exact same path .

This is straight out of Canadas 2030 agenda ….

If we don’t play by their rules you will lose your “tenure-ship” .
Which means land grab of private land under their rules which will continually change to fit the green narrative

But this is only for you Wilton regarding your smartass remark about aging out. I'm a young third generation and the there are two young adults eagerly stepping up to be the fourth generation.

Maybe you should be calling out all the Hypocrites on Agriville who opposed the Railway Blockades of 2020 yet approved of the Border Blockades of Feb 2022. Both incidents took place in CANADA.

But, that would include just about everybody on Agriville, so what does that make you?
It hit a nerve then. I’m fourth generation here with the fifth interested as well. Family originally was in Manitoba before coming north and west to settle this cold nasty place. Call me a hypocrite as well. I haven’t called out blockaders as I really can’t see why it would be of any substance as rail blockades were handled with kid gloves along with eco terrorists while road blockades justified the ema. My assertion still stands you better prepare your operation so the fourth generation has other means of production not tied to the livestock industry. It won’t totally go away but it will be pushed out not only because of economics but government regulation. Even your provincial government isn’t conciliatory to agriculture.

And what’s worrisome is the governments that will continue to move the goal posts to make it near impossible to comply with the 2030 vision going forward.
We need to pay attention to how this unfolds in the Netherlands , because it’s coming here soon.
FCC started to facilitate the process long ago. Look at the neighbours that have left over time and the ones that might be leaving due to drought along with higher expenses , only to sell out a farm bought for 20 to 30k a quarter being sold for 300k. While the new owners are able to farm it, what happens when SHTF for them?

Good for the guys that have sold out with some equity , but for guys kicked out from weather, they become peasants or equipment jockeys.

FCC seem to act as loan sharks sometimes, I bought a property earlier this year and there was an FCC mortgage on property with a 20% interest rate, crazy. And this was early 2022 before rate hikes.

Not to mention the hidden percentage they add over and above their posted rate without telling you. Wasn’t a lot, but pissed me off enough to leave there. Be straight up with me, or don’t bother doing business at all.

That, and you would just get comfortable dealing with the loan officer you had, and they would switch them up, and you had to start all over again. Employee turnover is crazy in that institution.

FCC is alright and to my benefit they helped me out with my first land purchase and all. That said the hit list they compiled for the Feds should sound the alarms.

I have a friend in the banking business. FCC doesn't have to play by quite the same rules as other banks.
But to be fair, they'll hand out unsecured trade credit loans so their rates have to be higher.

In Germany, it is no longer about supposed emissions, they are now expanding by decree the area in which fertilizer rates will be drastically restricted.

Just use google translate if you want to read this German article. If it asks you ( in German ) to accept cookies, use the button on the right.

The quote in the article that jumped out is this:

had long been pushing for exceptions, especially for exemplary farmers,

All of these NFU types that think they will be exempted because they think they are on the right side, and advocate for such policies, and will be willing snitches when the time comes, are in for a surprise, if even "exemplary farmers" aren't exempted. As the revolution eats its own, as they always do.
