A cheesy subject…I’m from Missouri on this one…

Did you know the US Government holds 1.5 billion pounds of cheese and 282 million pounds of butter in the Strategic Cheese and Strategic Butter Reserves?
In huge caverns underground in Missouri…

These stockpiles have been shrinking.. was over 360 million pounds of butter last summer…

Believe it or not… talk about supply management distortion of markets…by Canada!!!?

    Crazy

The USDA has for a long time made purchases of dairy products during times of low prices and thus intervened in the market place. At least they have not created a fake asset known as dairy quota and used that to eliminate potential players from the market.

How to keep Canadian dairy products produced in Canada is a concern.
Could it be threatened by an insistence on allocating 47% of production to one province with an avg herd size of 80 when AB herds avg 180 head??
How did that thinking work for wheat??

Supply management in Canada for dairy and poultry have commercials running steady on major networks.

They show individual farms and producers in all commercials with a very positive message.

Well-oiled machine not going away anytime soon.

Took a CTeam course… with our vast area and northern climate… the logic for perishables being managed in an orderly manner…. Is Intellegent for both farms and consumers…the US having 1.5Billion lbs of cheese in caverns isn’t exactly free enterprise marketing…

Looks like Turkeys will be short… chicken not far behind… the bird flu pandemic taking out 100million birds in North America…

                Serious Hog diseases… just a blink away….

Putin can turn our ‘orderly lives ‘ into way more chaos … in an instant … we are living so close to the edge on : food security….energy security… civil security…

                Exponentially increasing disruptions… self inflicted… destabilizing decisions….!

Saving our Planet by Zoom… and self deception….

Now we are In the realm of ‘virtual reality’ the Meta Universe… 2% of people must provide food for 8 billion people,…. Now expected to do this with 30% less nutrition???

Unbelievable. How on earth did we get here… ???

NCIS investigates a murder I think (it was background noise) that takes place in a tunnel where the cheese is stored.
