Agreed, I never forget that frost , most of us won’t .
And our Sask crop spokesperson at the time said it was just lite patchy frost in a few low lying areas. She should have been fired within a week of that , completely clueless. It was nearly western Canada wide and devastating for most farms . Frost kills

Full Moon is August 11. That seems too early to freeze but maybe a month later (would be way better).

Most likely within 3 days of the September full moon

Oh Ya, I remember,,, I bought a New Combine on Aug15th to harvest a beautiful crop!!!

Combined a Section of durum, basically for straw management, dumped about 3 hoppers in a slough, and burnt it. Pile had about 6-700bus of fluffy empty durum seeds, not worth the fuel to deliver to a feed mill, 45 miles away. Canola was a little earlier, straight cut it, but ended up with around 20-25% green. A beeatch to store, and get rid of !

Aug. 20 is brother-in-law birthday and 2004 he hit 40. We were all there enjoying cake and coffee with a thermometer in the middle of the table. About 9:00 the temp dropped below 0.
We all thought screw the coffee and got into the whiskey! Never will forget that night.

Crops coming along fast in central Alberta… 2 weeks ahead of normal for many, definitely on the dry side, but the cooler weather has been allowing crops to fill… if the big white combine has missed your field…

Apparently France and England are 77% short of moisture this summer…

The jet stream reinforces the hot dry dome over the western row crop area over the next week…

Boxed Beef values have been quite consistent in 2022 compared to 2021 the red line is 2016-20.

We are going to run out of normal volumes of cattle for slaughter … next spring could be very short of beef.

Vancouver and Toronto July single detatched house sales in July are down 45%, basically an illiquid housing market…

                Interesting times…
