Their are two kinds of people , one type believes everything , other type asks questions and does their own research and know that everything is not black and white , scamdemic proved that without a doubt

I was dead against the war on Iraq and posted several times asking about the never to be found WMDs.

      Bush was snookered by Cheney.

Meanwhile you've been very quiet regarding Putin flattening Syria and providing Assad with all the weapons he needs.

As for government corruption how many billions has Putin and his oligarchs skimmed from the Russian people.

Woke countries like Germany have financed Russia and OPEC. Germany is totally dependent on Putin’s pipeline and finance the death of Ukrainians.

Liberal climate bedwetters in North America (Chuck, forage, etc) have helped keep Russia and OPEC well financed by shutting downnew energy projects in western Canada.

Does anyone realy know what this war is about, other than what the media says, they are so bias its hard to believe anything they say.
I realize there are people dying,(on each sides) lots of structural damage but why ,it looks like more of a pissing match between Putin and Lewinsky. Both sides seem content to use there people as cannon fodder.
If it were to end tomorrow and Putin wins how does it affect the average person, the sun still comes up ,people would go on with there life (unless you are dead) What would change.
All this death and destruction ,for what ,,to change goverment.
I smell an outside influence such as the USA in this nato thing . I havent herd anything except Putin dosent want us missiles on his border ,much as the cuban crisis in the 70s.
We are probably going to be drug into a 3rd world war that no one wants except those who build war machinery and armament .
Starting to get fatigue from all the news.

Take some time to digest Peter Zeihan's latest ruminations on the subject. The "why" revolves around what he deems to be 9 Key invasion paths that Russia has attempted to control for time immortal. In order to be reasonably "secure" they have to plug:
            (1) the Bessarabian gap think Transnistria where theyve been pissing around since the downfall of the soviet union and then all of Moldova.
            (2) the Polish plain There's a good reason why Poland is adament that the battle needs to be fought in Ukraine, as Russia would need EVERYTHING east of Warsaw to make that frontier defensible
            (3) The Baltic states.
            (4) the frontier with Finland The single largest reason why Russia has insisted that they essentially have a Veto over Finnish defensive policy for the last 80 some years
            (5) the south Caucuses. Anyone remember Chechnya? Georgia? as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan?
            (6) The crimean peninsula as well as the Northern Shore of the Black sea This has essentially already been locked up
(7+8) The entire frontier with Kazakhstan... I think either side counts as a point. Certainly one of the largest reasons why Russia was instrumental in putting down the Kazakh revolt
            (9) The far east border with China

Now, its just rather unfortunate that both 1 and 2 are on the western side of Ukraine. One of the biggest reasons why I think talk of "peace" is fruitless is that Russian leadership kicks its own ass that it didn't take the whole of Ukraine back when it annexed Crimea. The task has certainly become a significant order of magnitude more difficult in the 7 or 8 years since. They certainly cannot sue for peace and then let the western powers re-arm Ukraine with more modern aircraft and armor.

Im reasonably certain that Moldova is next, and they may even launch that campaign once they suppress Odessa but are still engaged in Ukraine proper.

Then after that, If the western world can't bleed Russia dry in Ukraine, the war comes to NATO... They just said today that the gas pipe to Poland will be shut effective tomorrow if payment doesn't come in Rubles (that currency that NO-ONE wants to touch). Poland also just announced that they shipped a significant number of their T-72 armor to Ukraine in exchange for British Challenger II's. They've also been publicly advocating for forward basing of United States nuclear weapons... NATO certainly on the surface appears to be far more united today than it did even a few months ago, but can member states refuse Russia if by this winter they're freezing in the dark, their populations are in an uproar, and Russia strikes a bargain whereby gas and oil can be turned back on, but only if they abandon NATO?

Now as to the "why now"? take a quick look at Russian demographics. They are in an absolutely horrific state of decline. The skilled workforce is declining rapidly, the education system is in shambles, and drug and alcohol addiction is rampant! If they do not make the moves that they think they have to make NOW, there will never be another opportunity to do so. Their military officer corp is aging, and their draftable population is rapidly shrinking! Another 5 years or so and they won't be able to field an effective military. Hell with the place hollowing out the way it is, they'll struggle to contain internal dissention let alone any sort of foreign invasion.

Read into his thoughts what you will, but I feel its considerably more nuanced than "Putin's effing crazy."

And still there are those on Agriville blaming NATO, Ukraine, Zelensky, POTUS and Hunter, Trudeau, pipelines not being built in Canada, Germany buying oil and gas etc etc.

Very few posters on Agriville blame Putin the one that gave the order to fire the first missile. Hard to figure out but I'm thinking it's got to do with the majority of the countries in NATO are governed by left to center parties. Or could it be Trump's NATO bashing still floating around in their brains.

Russia's population has been decreasing year upon year , there is no immigration at all (which would suit some on here). Don't know of any person in the world willing to immigrate to a country being run by a dictator.

Ukraine has the greatest farmland in the world is rich in nature resources, and growing economy. Well educated people with a lots of culture dating back centuries. Russia has an aging population with one of the lowest birthrates in the world.

Putin has been a big failure to the Russian people and has stolen billions from them and has always wanted to build back to the former USSR.

Putin's getting old and he looks over at Zelensky who young (and his pecker still works) leading Ukraine into prosperity with a future for it's people and the jealous power hungry bastard invades.

Any one can spray a Z on tanks/vehicles bought from Russia and claim Russian damage?

Azov battalion is NOT nice, Russians HATE Nazis since WW2, killing of 35 million Russians.

Think, it's not simple. Really hope this all ends due to innocent casualties.

Obama pulled the trigger on the CIA backed coup which removed the leader of Ukraine and installed an puppet actor in his place in 2014

                    That was the first shot.

Dont want war, then stop fcking around in some other countries back yard.

Putin is focused on the wrong back yard.

China is putting the screws to Putin as we speak.

                      Covid Lockdown????

Besides Putin wanted Ukraine back the next day after Gorbachev gave them their independence.

It's been in his playbook since day one.

Haven't watched all of this yet, but it gives a bit of insight into Zeihans thinking.

Best line I've heard so far:

Yes, Rifles are an industrial technology, but so is fertilizer, and if you remove all three types at the same time? This world is over... The US will be fine (...) but the rest of the world the technical term? It's Phucked!
