Friday Crop Report on a Thursday.

Well, the big goose has landed in good old Saskatchewan. I'm so happy to be home. When you travel you will see we have a great province that we live in. A shitty federal gov but a great province we live in.

Here is the crop report from the USA up.

Texas is getting spring downpours in places and tornados. We were hunkered down in a
Casino on the way home as one went close by. Yes, truck stop bathrooms and casino bathrooms are safe zones to go hide from tornados. The area getting rain isn't that big but winter wheat is up just about flag and guys are putting fertilizer and spraying the young crop. Pastures suck and are really slow so the moisture has just come and it was a dry winter here.
Oklahoma the winter wheat is behind other years and it's dry this crop will have issues if rain doesn't happen as it's going to hit the main stage where it needs lots of growth and that means rain.
Kansas is dry dry dry and in my favorite town, Hutchison Kansas with all its grain elevators you can tell the winter wheat isn't like other good years. The last time I was here a week earlier the crop was almost heading. Not this year and they need rain.
Nebraska has lots more corn area so min winter wheat but also dryer and guys had planters hooked up. They were putting anhydrous down all over the place.
Iowa is better and guys were ripping corn ground and doing spring things.
South Dakota is wetter and as you move north to Fargo it's wet spring runoff and snow is going to almost gone.
North Dakota is wet on the East side but then you can see it was really dry on the west side.
Saskatchewan still has some snow at Estevan but as you head to Regina there is still snow but it's going and basically, once you cross the valley the snow is still around and further north way more.

So God bless Texas it was a great road trip home and a great Winter in Florida. Funny when you do this for a while it's almost like a goose. You stick around as long as you can then one day it **** it and I'm gone the same is true in Spring in Florida the grass starts to green up the trees that lose their leaves start getting leaves and trees that have flowers go a great color of yellow-red almost purple white. The heat starts to pick up and you pack up the Denali and head home. this year we have temps in the high 70s till South Dakota. Shorts till the border.

Seeding will be later in our area probably the first week of May. Back roads have snowbanks 10 plus feet high and that snow won't allow you down some roads till late April. We will have some spring runoff and it should fill all dugouts but GoodSpirit lake I don't think will fill back to the top. At the farm, it's the most snow in the yard in years. Did play with the Cat yesterday pushing snow.

Today it's down south and west of Regina to get a conveyor for a neighbor from a farm auction. Well, see what it looks like that way.

Still looking for my extra 2 sections to buy or rent and in our area that's not an easy thing to do. If I said I would pay $500000 per quarter the guys would say we need $600 now that don't farm anymore. I guess you just have to be happy with what you farm and play another year.

Enjoy this nice spring weather, have a great day, and it's good to be home in Saskatchewan.

Welcome back SKF! Hope you aren’t sun burnt too bad. Most of us should be getting over the frost bites we endured. LOL. It’s nice to see spring again, nice warm temps, water running. We will have a good start to seeding in my area. Dugouts are full and some running over, happy for the cattle guys.

Hope to be going by month end, but who knows. Setting dates never seem to work. The drill is ready, have to change a tire on the tank. There is going to be lots of “we can’t get one” problems. Could you imagine if your GPS went down? 😬

Everything is so far out of reality on whatever you need to buy. Looks like possibly some chemicals won’t be coming at all or won’t be on time. I booked everything two months ago and will be getting what I booked. Anyone that didn’t book early could be in trouble. Hate to be one of those guys that were hoping for a spring fert crash and now possibly might not get any. Scarey times!!

Sold some wheat for $13.25, of course could have gotten more earlier. Have 57% left, doesn’t seem to matter how the crops are in the US, prices seem to be sideways. The war should have prices ballooning.
That is a sad situation in itself. Have a bunch of $18 yellow pea contracts to fill.

On a side note four of us are taking off Apr 3-6 to Phoenix for a four day golf excursion. Looking forward to it so much. Should have stayed couple extra days, but it’s almost work time.

My golf game did get better this winter.

We will fill all dugouts and have a run-off in our area to the north yes way more but trouble spots are still lots. Time will tell but if no rain it's a repeat of 2021.

Good to see people in europe calling out his BS, but they are a marxist hellhole too, so they cant complain too much. Those countries did the same thing to citizens protesting the fake vaccine.

She was great, what a great ending to her speech:

“Please spare us your presence, thank you. “

                    Hahaha

Its pretty obvious that Trudeau is campaigning for some sort of UN or climate envoy gig and is going to let Freeland burn with his corrupt party before the next election. She will be Kim Campbell 2.0. A bad footnote in history.

All the womenkind who followed this imbecile fake feminist are in for a rude awakening.

If you can believe the numbers Trump polarized the electorate reulting in a huge turnout of " anybody bit Trump" vote.

If election was held today I think Treudau is at that point.

Ya,,, this year's spring melt is more of a Rancher's melt, than a Farmer's melt. Meaning it was slow to start, but then mostly melted quick, putting water in dugouts and potholes, unlike last year where the melt soaked into the cultivated farmland suppling reserve for the crop. Will be looking for rain now for sure.

Waiting for highs above two. Waiting to see a bare patch at the north end of the home quarter which peeks out first. Four foot unused gates barely visible, four foot fence is hit and miss visible.

With the forecast though, it’s going to take a while. So odd that in a province without much for physical features, things can be so different within a couple hours drive…

Great looking 7, it diff steer or clutches? Keep a eye on final drive oil, they like to leak into the transmission.
