Well maybe having more than 3 teeth in your mouth, might be good for people .
And Inspire them to bigger things. Like a job and a life. Could really be cheaper in the long run. You know.

I guess it is a little harder to feel superior , if poor folks have decent teeth too.
But that is just another drawback of socialism .

The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money .
Working and living off the government creates zero wealth ….. ever .

Have a look around today in Canada … unfolding in front of our eyes .

If oil and potash were not severely overpriced this country would be a banana republic by now

Yes and no Furrow, I agree things have to
        Be paid for somehow.
        You could use universal Healthcare.
        Medicare as an example .
Cost analysis of the US system and Canadas system . The Canadian system per person cost runs 60% the cost per person
        That the US system does.
The US Federal govt on a per person basis already spends 85 % of what Canada does, then add all the private insurance premiums on top.
Another area , the US has the largest incarceration level in the world.
You do not do that without a cost.
        A huge one.
Again helping people out with education, mental health, drug addiction, and maybe even there dental health might be the cheapest route in the long run.
It is not clear cut , I know
But keeping your population healthy and helping some out in tough times.
Is likey more cost effective than not doing it.
Farmers have been in the same boat from time to time ,
And I am sure my Ag invest more than covers my dental bills.

Tend to have a classical conservative bias on these such issues. Just my fiscal conservative side gets in the way. Sometimes though a stitch in time saves 9. A healthy educated population tends to not make as many bad decisions but opportunity for upward mobility and a sense of accomplishment must be maintained as well. This is the crux.

I would hear all my life the bellyaching about natives getting their education paid for. Out of all funding for natives this is probably the best dollar spent. The better anyone is educated the less likely they are in poverty or do bad things.

We haven't seen nothing yet regardless of their stripe. These days they can bury a $2B+ gun buyback program in the loose change fund and no one bats an eye.
Hardly one Canadian cares where any of it comes from anymore.
