I spent 3 years as a registered lobbyist in Ottawa. I learned from the best. The convoy/protest/shitshow was the WORST example of how to fail at getting your point across. Too many loose cannons (bad flags, statue and sacred site desecration) but mainly, no cohesive message and the assaults on media were big downfalls.

There was no spokesperson at a mic. No press releases. Media is your friend in these situations as they deliver your message broadly. The convoy alienated their best resource.

The only ones to succeed this weekend were the Liberals unfortunately. Mad Max and OToole and the rest of the fractured Conservatives floundered trying walk a fence that was too electrified for either to stay on.

To organize something like this from all corners of Canada without lobbyist helps and cash from NGOs in the middle of winter is an accomplishment in itself.
