Umm sorry to say it, but the heads of these farm orgs are mostly ceremonial. These arent lobby groups with cash to fill politicians re-election campaigns. They have no power.

So if Minister bobo cant get an extra dime out of Trudeau for this industry, how would farm groups influence that? Answer is they cant.

I mean you a have a health care system ready to collapse and Trudeau gave no money to that. Why would we think he is going to come with some savior program for an industry he hates.

We are on our own. If the current programs cant do it for your operation, then we need to sit down and do a total risk assessment and plan accordingly. I would bet there is more regulation coming for this industry than any new support dollars.

      Might have to live here.

      Where is the 'Balance???'!!!

A 'Pandemic' of 'Academic Vegetation' that is not particularly helpful... faces us all...

Much is being considered in the banning of unvaxed truck drivers crossing the US Canada border when working.

A BBC news article adds to this volume of information... as does recent CDC US recognition that natural immunity protection in unvaccinated people who had Covid, and have active antibodies... is as good as or better than vaccinated people.

This does prove to a 'reasonable person' why no extra harm to other people is caused by those unvaccinated people [truck drivers] who travel back and forth across the Canada US border [as everyone [vaxed and unvaxed] can/are risk factors' be equally spreading Covid-19].

Working with my AHS RN Dietician last Friday; She told me anyone who was asymptomatic or infected with Covid-19 risks possible severe possible complications from booster vax... one client who was found to be Covid asymptomatic and didn't know until after their third booster: was very sick now in intensive care in hospital ...

Dont know how many folks know the twists and possible dangers/risks involved in mass booster/vax programs.

sheepwheat, there was an old boy here, had been a sniper in WW2. spent the rest of his life trapping and hunting in the pasquia hills, and farming . he said there was only one animal in the bush he was scared of . it wasnt a wolf , you guessed it , a cow moose!
a guy we were hunting with years ago shot a calf moose , cow wouldnt leave ,finally tried to attack him. he never even had enough time to raise gun , 4 shots from the hip at about 15 feet stitched her brisket . i helped gut it , all the evidence was there including where he pissed himself about 5 feet from the dead cow. he was lucky he had a semi automatic

Yeah they say a cow moose with a new calf is something you steer clear of. This girl was alone. Something ticked her off. A friend figures she’s mad that she has to live outside in these conditions.

I can't argue your comments , other than to say, how is it that every other industry received billions.

Air canada ....closing in on 9 billion
                Algoma....400 million
                Dofasco ....400 million

Then add up the the rest of the half trillion spent and where it went.

Your comment """If the current programs cant do it for your operation, then we need to sit down and do a total risk assessment and plan accordingly."""" maybe should apply to other industries as well.

Honestly bucket, and this wont be popular with some on this forum or industry, I want ag totally forgotten by the feds and the public. I feel we would be better off.

Trying to raise our profile in this business is just back firing. The average woke Joe will hate us and the govt will eventually shake us down to please that group for votes and then extra-national orgs like the UN will be trying to regulate us.

I see no win for us by engaging this govt in any way.

With snow almost every day, gives more hope than brown grass now.
If this continues as rain in the coming season crops should be ok..
Prices for each crop would make us $$$.
Pick what ever you like to grow.
Or what ever you can get seed to grow.
Bly and oats were gone long ago in this area..

                      You say it well.

And yet it seems another group is formed yearly saying they represent farmers.

Has anyone added the number of provincial and national organizations that are supposedly farm /ranch related?

And watch how the same people flow from one to another.
