The brick around the fireplace came from Great Plains auctions and the hearth is limestone I found in the field, cutting limestone with a 16 inch skil saw was a pretty big job, I didn’t know limestone was that hard.

Hit a high of -25C yesterday, great weather for freezing all our canola, will be busy moving fans in this next week and loading out 20 trucks of canola to the crusher. Little more piece of mind knowing canola is all frozen before we head down to Mexico.

Great to see those that had crops take full advantage of these good prices, hopefully the rest of us have that opportunity next year .
An opportunity of a lifetime for a few of you 👍.
30 years of doing this and hard to watch this one slide by .

It may be cold comfort, but a missed opportunity 30 years into ones sucessful business is likely much easier on the economic sustainability of that business than it is at the very beginning. When it will change the entire trajectory. Still no fun to be sitting on the sidelines and watching.

Don’t see no plan when the liberals cut fossil fuels in 2030 .... that’s concerning to me . Maybe most have not figured that out yet .

That’s the day time high coming up

So run carbon tax so high by then we need the magic unicorn dust after that ?? Just curious
They don’t give a shit about the common people
Until they realized they taxed too much
              Then they’ll pay attention

Even at a half crop this year I consider myself fortunate and lucky, hopefully next year will be better for everyone. Another 6” of snow to plow away today, already tired of pushing snow this year, but will add a bit moisture for next year.

I was just reading on CBC news that 15 communities in Alberta set record low temperatures today, 6 communities did the same yesterday. Certainly is damn cold outside. About six inches of the snow on the ground up from 0 2 weeks ago.

I don’t know how they call this record setting cold. I can remember 30+ years ago at relatives by Fort vermilion over Christmas holidays it not getting above -30 for 2 weeks. Dipped to -40 every night. Lot of old data was thrown out so to speak. If you look at environment Canada site historical data doesn’t go back more than 30 years. Easy to set bullshit records in a 30 year window than 120.
