    Who Soil Tests?

We’re going to do soil tests next week and don’t know who or where to send it to. Who do you send your samples to and how good are they. Do you send 0-6 or 0-12? Thanks.

      I can believe that.
Top 6 in where you placed the fertilizer was bone dry for much of the growing season.
You grew the crop largely on fertility from deep down in the root zone.
      Maybe down to 4ft

Doing one sample for a 1/4 section???? Only if your field is flat and all the same soil
Zone sampling or grid much better. Getting to be huge supplies of phos in certain areas of the field and some areas can still use more

I take 20ish samples per quarter, on a GPS'd grid pattern, for both 0-6 and 6-12. Mix the pails thoroughly, then bag and label.

Put in the fridge so they stay cool, put them in a cooler and drive down to Medicine Hat to drop off at Nutrien. They forward to Exova labs the next day, results typically within 5-7 days. I'd imagine there'll be a backlog this year, but it's not like I'm lining up for $1000+ fertilizer right now anyway.

A&L labs. GPS’d spots tested every year. This year very different results on every field. Some fields lots left and some not much. Very dependent how it yielded and the fertility applied last year.
