And as per the article, just the cost just to transport the battery to a recyling depot exceed the cost of material recovered.

I read elsewhere that an appropriate front end recyling fee would be $5000 per car, to cover the end of life costs, just like we pay with electronics and lead acid batteries now.
And prepare for the consumer and taxpayer to bear the cost of cleaning up all the abandoned, orphaned and suspended oil and gas wells plus the oil sands tailing ponds and mines! The bill is in the hundreds of billions.

Wonder what servicing and upkeep would be
Compared to oil changes, engine rebuilds
    Etc?

As for your perpetual energy car, I think you have been reading too many of Chuck's cut and pastes made by delerious physicis denying unreliable energy zealots, if you believe perpetual motion is possible.

Everyone need to accept that Chuck is here to provife comedic relief, not to be taken seriously.

But your last statement about taxing by the mile driven based on GPS is closer to reality than we probably realize.

The few parts I had to wait for came from the warehouse in Saskatchewan and did not hold up production on our end.
If you ever get stuck looking for something try Crossfield too. They are very good also. They also seemed to have different pricing sometimes better sometimes worse.
