We’ve been feeding our bees sugar syrup for a bit.
I was driving somewhere, I think it was on the way to stoon, and I was surprised at one field in particular that looked like July. Solid yellow canola, corner to corner.

Many (almost all) lentil fields around here look like more went out the back of the combine then went in the hopper. Not much difference the colour of combine. And probably only half of what was on the ground germinated. Hurry up and freeze it, pal-ease.

For our Deere's.
Removed that high stupid precleaner.
The front portion, of remaining. Bend it to half the opening.
Run rotor speeds higher than book.
Keep rotor full, ( wife always drives to fast but she is rite again).loses are half or even less.
No canola stocks stuck in sieves either..
Pattison combine clinic paid dividends..

Sorry to pop any hopeful bubble about frost. It’s still quite green here too. Spotted these flowers from the highway just now.
And this field was combined last week.
Once Canola crosses over to volunteer it loses all fragile sensitivity 😂 Even the excessive cereal regrowth is starting to struggle under the frosts. My cows and I sure wish there were more fences around, that’s for sure.Last edited by Blaithin; Oct 10, 2021, 12:57.
