Jazz, that pea-size hail was odd because there was no rain with it.

Two miles south of my yard. I got maybe 3/10 of rain. This line seems to more or less have gone straight east.

I hear a combine rushing home in the storm got hit by lightning, no fire but fried the entire electronic system, likely written off. Between Olds and Wimborne

Lost most of my crop one year at about 2:00 am, you just never know.

Same here in 2009, major building and machine damage and 100% hailed crop, havent been able to relax since with any kind of storm in the dark.

Just from the few farmers I have talked to near Regina. I can count a few hundred thousand bushels less canola out there now. Nasty widespread path destroyed of some of the nicest crops around. I bet this took 1,000,000 bushels out of canola production

High production area was hit hard. Just 2 farmers that I know of lost 8000 acres of 50 bushel Canola plus lots of Durum.

In Alberta we have the Variable Price Benefit which is
triggered when Fall Market Price is an increase of 10 - 50% so I’d guess most crop coverage will increase by close to or the max of 50% of the covered dollar as long as prices stay strong through October.

Shitty. I think there’s one across the River that got enough hail damage to cause issues because he was out in the field with it. Broke windows maybe? Can’t recall.

I heard all the south facing light panels in Trochu Motors are cracked from hail.

Odd to have storms this late but have experienced a hail storm on the 19th of September in 07 or 08. Not nice when your that close to the finish line especially with these prices.

Had a few hailstones fall on Oct 3 rd in 2017 I think, I didn’t realize hail insurance expired Sept 30th. Wasn’t claimable but would have been a nasty surprise had it been worse.
