    Malt vs feed price

    The spread is widening.
    $2.30 a bushel more for malt now..
    Most has graded malt in the area..
    Sold some for $9.58..

      Going to be no forwarded pricing next yr..
      Not sure how the company's will react.
      How will they guess trains/boats with no farmer commitment?

        Was quoted $8.25 feed at bin friday morn. immediate movement.
        No dockage or shrinkage deductions.
        Haven't played the malt game for years.
        They will have to pay over $10 for me to put up with the BS!

          Yes is all varies.
          Lucky our moisture is under 13.5..
          Actually 10.9 on today's loads.
          Viterra real good on dockage at .5 % for us..
          Regardless..it makes money.
          Better than wht again for us..

            If they were not such pricks about contracts right now , next would not be an issue
