    Canola plant stand ..

There was a discussion here about a month ago on canola plant stands and drought .
We have several direct side by sides with the planter at 2 lbs and drill at 5 lbs
    Here is one example...

Canola at 2.1 lbs or 200,000 seeds per ac

Directly beside it at 5.4 lbs .

The canola seeded with the drill looked much better at the end of June ... then ran out of gas 10 days or earlier

Remember reading a tidbit from Grant McEwen. He said don’t seed too heavy if the ground can’t handle it. Makes you wonder.

      Planter for the win.

            Yup
            Had 4-5 frosts , lost about 30% .
Plots looked way better at end of June
            Had moderate flea beetle pressure
Sprayed matador just to keep plant counts after frost

We have burn out spots in areas as well , just not as severe. Just thought this was interesting in an identical situation side by side

Be looking forward to hearing the results on that one if you care to share.
