Climate scientist from MIT asks to please quit spreading this media garbage back in in 2004. Says it is physically impossible to stop this ocean current no matter what the temperature is.

OMG another “scientist”. The world is full of them. Many pontificators of doom.

This looks like something from the Watchtower. The good shepherd needs to coax his flock back into the fold.

Briefly read the article this morning off Google feed.
              Not sure why anyone alarmed.

Instead of quoting Wunsch's 2004 position whereby he said stopping the ocean current is impossible, maybe you should quote his response to a 2018 study done by Germany, Greece, Spain, and NOAA which found:
"the Gulf Stream is circulating at its slowest rate in at least 1,600 years."
"Climate change is to blame for the slowdown, the study also concluded."
"If the circulation stops completely, it would have catastrophic impacts on our weather."

MIT professor Carl Wunsch said the study's "assertions of weakening are conceivable, but unsupported by any data" in an interview with the AP.

Seems like "impossible" has left Wunsch's vocabulary and has been replaced by conceivable!

Sounds like the story line from the movie, The day after tomorrow.
