The Australian ag sector is heating up

The ag sector in Australia appears all of the sudden to be very attractive by investors (including the Canadian Pension Plan!) https://www.theland.com.au/story/7368021/how-covid-19-has-supercharged-the-market-for-ag-assets/?cs=4959

The ag sector worldwide has been heating up for years now, primarily thanks to zero percent interest rates. As rates fall, asset prices will rise.

Companies with access to cheaper capital will gobble up those who can't access it at the same cost.

Investors in farmland typically are not looking for yield because yields are collapsing along with interest rates. What they hope to do is eventually pass off the asset to another investor for a big capital gain.
