DU receives several millions of taxpayer $ in Canada and receives through USA farm bill & CRP funding.

Why are they referred to as a Non-Government Organization?

I asked that question live on the code of conduct webinar and explained that DU is a land aggregator using taxpayer money...they couldn't answer or understand.

Bottom line....stay the phuck away from NCC or DU.

Wouldn't it be nice if it were that simple - just "...stay away..."

        But it isn't.

Here in Ontario, environmental extremists are setting the policy framework for the re-wilding of productive farmland.

The Society for Conservation Biology is global community of conservation professionals dedicated to advancing the science and practice of conserving Earth's biological diversity.

Trek West, a 'landscape connectivity' project, will cover 6,000 miles of North America on foot, bike boat, and horseback.

This initiative takes shape in the Provincial Policy Statement and implemented through our local county Official Plans, then voted upon and okayed by stone-blind elected council members who simple-mindedly follow the experts guidance.

All across Canada it will in all likelihood be the same since it's the same force behind it.

They will eventually bring ALL land under regulation that controls every move you make on your own land.

Got a slough that you can work through some years? Forget it - it won't be legal. Nor will you be cropping around it within a very broad "buffer zone".

And the same will apply to all "natural features", as they are identified, catalogued and regulated by some over-paid useless bureaucrat.

Because the U.N. Agendas direct it that way.

So ya, you can try to"...stay away", but how much will your efforts matter when it's them coming for you?

        But - trust the government...

Here in sask. we allow them to buy the land, put on a restraining order and resell it. This goes on forever. Alta. limits them to 10 years. Low spots in Alta. can be leased by Alus but not locked up in perpetuity.

Indeed, but it's a common measurement of time when you're government.

What an industry...ranchers will get bought out by DU and set up a lease back with conditions and do the exact same thing they are doing now....but now they are peasants.

So you rather let non resident corporate owners like Andjelic land and other corporations, bulldoze all your hunting habitat, take over and drive up the cost of owning and renting more productive land and making it much harder for younger less well off farmers to buy land?

DU often purchases less productive land for multiple uses and conservation. They are a relatively small player in the land market and most of what they have is rich with wetlands.

Wetlands are important parts of the ecosystem and provide many benefits to everyone. Land owners have every right to put a priority on conservation and put conservation easements on land as they see fit.

Why not sell off all the parks, fishing and hunting spots on crown land that farmers enjoy to the highest bidder? The priority should always be making as much money from the land as possible. Correct?

Here is a story about DU.

DU gets water from Lake Diefenbaker and send it through a series of lakes / marshes that they manage poorly. Marshes are supposed to help filter the water...

Lake diefenbaker provides 75 percent of this province's population drinking water.

In less than 30 miles through the DU system ....the water is barely drinkable for cattle.

Now they are pulling out but keeping any land they have in that area and leaving a phucking mess behind.

Shit engineering of stop logs and poor management ..

DU is a land aggregator and really doesnt give a shit about ranchers or farmers even with all their paintings in the malls.

But you defend these DU people??????

Not a fan of DU but I bet they don't fly flags or have window stickers that say F#&k Trudeau. Or go on SM disrespecting party and Ministers while expecting a hand up or special financial consideration. Who would do that when they go to the bank or any other institution when asking for help? Best check out who is representing and is farmers voice.

Sure do and what did that get him? Nothing but disrespect and walking papers. Farmers should expect the same thing when they act the same way is all I'm saying.

NCC and DU got money in the federal budget prior to the pandemic.

Bought land with it...then got donations for offsets...and gets land rent now...

How does that help ranchers or farmers when they become peasants by government policy.

And yes I will speak up and call out government when this kind of crap is going on...

Conservatives have let farmers down as well.
