Wow it’s smoky. Visibility is right about a mile. At least you can see the outline of treelines at that distance. High was to be 33. It’s only hit 25. For areas with some crop, each day of this may help. Chances of showers . Might get lucky?

Smoke will buy time. Crops that got rooted in are in decent shape on good land. Poorer land they suck. Still getting dew most mornings which helps. A decent rain would set us.

Do that for enough decades, while also not harvesting strategically, and the fuel load gets so much greater than would have ever happened naturally, then larger, hotter, fires are inevitable.

Whole prairie used to burn.
Went on a pasture tour near the Platte River. The trees along the banks were not there when it burned. They created a blow ridge that screwed up the drainage.
Fire helped the prairies develop that deep black organ ic soil they are noted
for.
Where did you learn everything Sweety?
You about know it all.

So we are experiencing a record heat event with many temperature records broken in a large area and a persistent drought across much of western north america. When records are broken by large margins it usually means something more than natural variation are at work.
A lot of what has happened no doubt is from natural causes but the impact of human caused climate change is also a factor. How much of a factor I will leave up to the scientists to examine and debate.

Oh double chuck. You must be one young fella, and have lots to learn. I have made several "square bales" (and indication how long I have been around), in temperatures of "100-105 F" (another indication how long I have been around). Some day when you have brought the world to the dream you have now, and we still have these temps you will say WTF.

Nice heavy smoky hazy day today. Cool nice welcome change. Blunting that harsh sunlight makes a huge difference to plants even if they dont get moisture.
