Isn’t farming gumbo so much fun?
Won’t have it any other way! 😎

Number one son learned the joy of cleaning gumbo out of a coil packer.

Finished seeding today, will put some corn in tomorrow for the bil's cows. Hardly any pot holes to go around this year, hope this is not a sign on how much moisture we get this year.

Yesterday afternoon. Having to put the corn in over two inches to hit poor moisture. The clay lumps were plugging the closer wheels which was really irritating. It was the first day that we hit our stride with the planter and air drill both going. Between breakdowns and cows they consumed the first half of May.

Today. An inch and still coming down. Supposed to switch to snow until sometime tomorrow. Now just to keep the newborns alive and the cow chow flowing till the sky’s clear tomorrow hopefully. The hills are coming to life out here finally. Definitely not complaining as it’s the biggest rainfall since July of last year. Just wish we had more kernels in the ground.......... Who am I kidding we always work best under pressure and behind the eight ball. I wouldn’t know what to do if we were ahead of schedule 😉

Good luck everyone on your moisture situation.🍀

Those cows will be bawling for you to open the gate when they smell that green grass early tomorrow morning.

Let’s hope not, earliest we’ve been done seeding in the last 20 years.

Corn planted 21 days ago just starting to poke through ground. Rain forecast for weekend starting to look like non event. Need rain to finish last canola field. Roundup sprayed 7 days ago looks like it worked.
