Anyone have any higher hours on a 425 - 500 hp ag unit of recent generation??
Stieger with Iveco, Vers with ISX.
Just wondering what like after that magic 5000 hrs.

Not if maintenance fkd up LoL.
Just had an improper valve set tear out cam and rockers lol.
Honestly, need the newer gen stuff like horse to weight, flat plate and hydraulics.
Tractors have tranny's, diffs and tires too lol. Miss my old Vers except she was outdated.

Even my M11 has 8000 hrs and that's not anybody's favorite engine. Don't see why these newer engines should not last unless that emissions system pumps to much crap through . Must be lots of Iveco 's out there now with big hours like custom choppers etc.

With the 600hr oil change interval, it's no surprise if the newer engines don't make 5000hr.

I think if anything the tolerances and machining on modern motors are better than ever. The smog systems are the killers egr's and def systems. Adding a couple quarts or so of gear oil every oil change is a smart move due to the presence of friction modifiers now banned in motor oils due to environmental reasons. According to the truckers forum million mile ISX Cummins with that protocol torn apart look virtually brand new. Without it the cam shafts eventually eat themselves apart. Those same guys also do not recommend synthetic oils however for cold Canadian winters synthetic may not be bad idea.

Deere has a FIX as FAIL 8 year warranty for 13.5 after 2014, head gaskets/head bolts. Oil gets into coolant. Combines seem prone to it, saw one done at 1800 hours. But 13.5 going way of Do Do bird. Long is of fails. Friend has 12000 hours on a 6.8L 7730, cattle operation. Never been opened.

I just bought a " new to us " 97 Agco 8360 4wd tractor. It is replacing my 77 Steiger St 250 tractor. Have had good luck with the 855 cummins in my grain truck, hoping the N 14 in the Agco is the same way.
