Agree fully with everything said in clip. Most importantly however is what is not said. Maher does not blame left or right. He does not extoll the virtues of free market vs socialism/communism. He does not blame politics or economic systems. He does not name or blame individual leaders or politicians. The problem Maher describes extends across all party lines and all economic systems. China is not the problem, we are!

The fact is China is society based vs the west individual based. China does what is good for China vs the west focus on what is good for the individual. Unfortunately, with this focus, it is the individual (or corporation) with the most money/power/voice that reaps the benefits; not western society. While China eats our lunch, instead of competing, we try to stake the moral high ground, claim superiority, and play the victim card; and we can only watch as China ignores our grievances and continues to build its dominance in the world as the west crumbles. We truly are fiddling as Rome burns!

Here is another segment that should be watched. It describes the same breakdown, without the Chinese comparison that a lot of people on Agriville will get hung up on. It is 8 minutes that you will not be able to forget.

We believe we are morally superior to ancient cultures that we don't understand.
We are our own worst enemy as Canadians regardless of cultural heritage. We have become collectively fat, lazy, ignorant and naive. A culture of teenagers. And so we will have teenagers running the country. Case in point.
