    Chinese Canola Oil Imports

Charlie I read a story yesterday that china is forecasted to import 400,000 tons of Canadian canola oil next year and that the 10 year average is 20.59 tons.

Is the 20.59 a typo error. That is quite a jump!

          From Reuters:

Chinese demand for world oilseeds has fueled prices this year, and has consumed a large chunk of Canada's production of canola, a variant of ****seed.

Canada will likely export 400,000 tonnes of canola to China in the 2003/04 marketing year (Aug/July), Coburn said, along with 400,000 tonnes of canola oil -- the equivalent of 1 million tonnes of seed.

That accounts for about 12 percent of Canadian production, Coburn said.
