Simple question, as a farmer in Canada which is a greater threat to your future viability the C02 levels in the atmosphere or a federal carbon tax that is projected to reach $170 CAD by 2030?

It's real easy it's Trudeau's Carbon Tax and Clean fuel standard. This makes us a shit hole and the rest of the world isn't changing. Were 36 million on the second-largest land mass country in the world.

Lots of things can happen in 10 years. Way to many immediate issues to be concerned about as a farmer right now.

If an election was called today....Trudeau would win a majority by just forgiving CERB which he has eluded to already....4 years takes us halfway to 2030 ....

And I dont think the conservatives would eliminate the carbon tax...

What a lot of people don't realize is ...COVID has reduced emissions immensely in the past year...by reducing travel worldwide...

You can't park 10000 planes and not realize that emissions are decreasing...maybe the solution is reduce air travel....

AS to the question...the carbon tax will be the most detrimental....my crops will take care of the C02

OTTAWA–Erin O’Toole is expected to put significant emphasis on climate change and environmental policies in the Conservatives’ next election pitch in a bid to broaden the party’s appeal beyond its traditional base.

Addressing the climate crisis has not been a central part of the modern Conservative Party’s electoral pitch. But two senior Conservative sources suggested that could change in the next federal election, with one calling a credible environmental plan an “entrance exam to respectability” with voters.

Public polling — including in the crucial suburban ridings around Toronto — supports that conclusion. But it will be a tricky line for O’Toole to walk, after being elected leader partly on a promise to champion Western Canada’s concerns.

“It has to be serious, it has to be robust, people have to believe that we take this seriously,” said one source, granted anonymity to discuss internal party deliberations.

“It’s not so much that there are large, enormous numbers of accessible voters who vote according to this issue (alone),” the source added, but that if the Conservatives don’t offer a credible environmental plan to voters, “you don’t get a hearing on anything else.”

Was reading Quebec’s cap and trade carbon policy will keep them at 17 bucks while we move towards 170. Should we be going their way? Would allow us to sell credits more easily, correct?

You would think more cap and trade tonnes on the market would reduce the price of carbon????????

Last time i checked there were only 2 countries that aren't part of the Paris accord.

Forage, if Trudeau wins an election this yr, that puts him halfway to 2030. The tax rises every yr from here out.

Curious what other issues are more pressing that an industry under direct attack by its own govt?
