My quad thread got me thinking

Av'r *Chief* still has all his 8tracks in hard-cover suitcase style boxes. Some legitimate gems, but a few you can tell were bought for "that one song"...

8 tracks in the truck, LP's in the house. LP's are back in vogue, perhaps 8tracks will become cool again, and you guys will be sitting on gold mines!

Speaking of gold mines... who's got all their old comics? I know one guy in particular that has a SLUG of batman/superman/avengers comics. They're well read, but theres hundreds of em.

Think about 73, 8 track 4channel deck, 4 speakers, lots of Bass/volume. A reverb add on. Moontan Radar Love. Then add CB radio, 8' whip antenna. Party on. Started driving in 68, a $400 used 64 Acadian. 45 cent gas.
Still have an old home deck in shop with a few 8 tracks, tape probably rotten/dust.

73 Ford F100 302 with the Three on the tree. I pin stripped it for extra. CB radio with the big wip and a gun rack. Remember we could go to the drive inn and have our guns on the back window. Hell could go to school like that.

Repairing and customizing old trucks, square body Chevs etc, has become a big thing. Even older ones.

Most of them were rode and worked hard and put away wet until the day they were given up on.

Now you have brought up painful memories.
My grandmother made all of her grandkids a cabbage patch doll for Christmas one year. Bought the heads and build the rest of the doll , I'm sure it was a lot of work, And probably the only way to procure Cabbage Patch doll during the height of the fad, Let alone eight of them.

It was the most disappointing Christmas present I had ever got. And I felt so guilty about it knowing how much effort had gone into it. I tried really hard to find a way to appreciate it. It still weighs on my conscience even today.
