I think the lateness of the orders is perhaps the only thing that can be blamed on the Liberal government.

There was no way any government could have built vaccine production capacity in such a short time before any particular vaccine was approved. The investments would have to had started many years ago and at that time, this issue wasn't on the radar. If it was, why didn't Harper start building?

With billions of people requiring a new vaccine what is the chances that everyone is going to get it within a few weeks? Zero. Its going to take many months. How long do you think it will take the US to get it done? January? Doubt it. More likely 2022 and beyond.

In the mean time blame your favourite politician and then stomp your feet and tell us covid is a hoax or an overblown crisis! So if it is an overblown crisis like so many posters have said, why are you worried about when Canadians will get the vaccine? LOL

Trudeau does not want the vaccine here right now, its not election time yet. He needs to milk this to his majority. So its will be limited rollout, probably Toronto and Montreal first, more idiotic updates from him in front of his cottage get the media to change the narrative and take down the death ticker until he can start campaigning again in April.

I guess you feel Canada should have been more like Russia with a vaccine program. Russian was the first in the world to offer a vaccine, back on Sept 20 after testing it on just 74 people. Russia was the first in the world to complete phase 3 trials, before pfizer or modera completed theirs and the first to approve the vaccine for public use. Of the more than 9,500 people in Canada who succumbed to COVID in the first wave, between March and July, 90 per cent had at least one other cause, condition or complication reported on the death certificate, according to Statistics Canada.

Dementia or Alzheimer’s, the most common conditions associated with COVID-involved deaths, were listed on the death certificate of 42 per cent of women, and 33 per cent of men. More than half of seniors aged 80 and older living in long term care have dementia.

Cancer, nervous system disorders like Parkinson’s or ALS, respiratory disease, diabetes, kidney failure, heart disease, high blood pressure and pneumonia — all increase the risk of a lethal case of COVID.
