Here's a better idea. Make a dam' POLITICS forum! And a climate change one while you're at it!
OR, just use the topics already made.

Why the extreme refusal to use the crop production topic for crop production topics?

I agree but farmers have been conditioned to a one stop shop....pick up seed fertilizer and fuel all from the same place....why go to other places??//

Just an observation and I am guilty of the convenience of one stop forums as well...

My complaining could be put to other forums...

Once upon a time ...rural issues and the beef forums were regularly used...as time went on the posters focused in on the commodity forum.

Yes they were. And mostly no one pushed against conspiracy theories, outright misinformation, and racist remarks and posts except maybe only chuck who received it in spades from most. But that changed and it really upset the old dog politburo. They miss their "safe" space.

So then they complained about not enough ag content, wanted to turn long time commodity/political topics into crop production. But also refuse to post in crop production - because it is obvious they really don't want to post about ag, they just want the old forum back where no one disagrees with their narrative.

For me and my colleagues, this has been absolutely fascinating to watch.

Doesn’t matter to me, I like all Ag topics. (Chickens, turkeys, cattles) Just don’t like those on here who have nothing to add but they just love to poke the bear. 🦨🐲 Useless teats.

I think it is safe to tally up the results of Farmaholics attempt at starting farm related posts now.
The Wheat thread started on Nov 16 had 3 pages, 7,527 views and was active until Dec 29.
The canola thread started on Nov 16 had 8 pages, 20,388 views, and was active until Dec 31.
              I'd call that a success.
Except somewhere in the interim, Farma took his ball and went home, anyone heard from him?

Maybe it gets sidetracted because some of us don't want to talk about the $10 canola we sold you know ( LOOK A SQUIRREL) effect . But we should talk about how we could do better at markets .

I was just noticing his lack of posting on the weekend, as well.

Farmaholic was a prolific poster, what I mean is that, to post and to reply as much as he did would consume a lot of time. To be constantly checking how others are responding to what you post is addiction/near addiction.

Could be that he checked to to the Betty Ford for 30 days!

I do miss getting updates from the Ghetto.

On the serious side, I hope there wasn't a sudden health concern for the family. I know if something big were to happen healthwise for someone in my family, posting and reading what's going on here would end pretty quickly.

I think it’s the time of year when people take breaks from online places.

When the season starts to shift and moods improve I’m sure he’ll reappear, recharged, with Ghetto news and marketing chat.
