re read the post big wheelie. if you need a ventilator you get shipped out. North Battleford, Prince Albert, Lloydminster are all capable of hooking up a ventilator for severe pneumonia. Major trauma, stroke, or any other emergency you get admitted to Saskatoon. Oh but you didn’t read did you.....oops....Originally posted by the big wheel View PostWell gee I don’t know they just announced Saskatoon won’t be taking any out of town icu patients. I guess that means they will then? Lmao 😂
Rural patients will be getting second rate care is what that means. They’ve gutted too many smaller centres they should have had more Regional centres at least all with top end capebilities. they don’t have that.
Most people if they have something serious just bypass the local hospital because it just wastes time while they figure out what to do without any useful equipment. Moe should announce where people should go now.

You must live in the city when they say this it will be at best major confusion it was before covid for rural residents. Time is something we don’t have out here when something unfortunate happens. It should have been made much more clearer than what it is as to what’s going on.Originally posted by Herc View Postre read the post big wheelie. if you need a ventilator you get shipped out. And yet socialists like Chucky and his NFU buddies were flocking in groups of 1000’s or more to protest the police. You, Glen and all leftists should lead by example and spend the winter in your basements wearing N95 masks since being outdoors is risky between viruses and global warming.Originally posted by tweety View PostThink about who has been dying. Old folks homes or around 10 to 12% death rate. Given the farmer age demographic, you can be sure to fall into that 3 or 4% death rate.
But death isn't the only outcome. Long term effects, cardiac, brain, lung etc can easily end your farming career. These numbers are much harder to arrive at since they are lumped into recovery - just meaning you're not dead.
Medical Doctors, immunologists, virologists, infection control have spent a lifetime studying diseases, maybe its time to start listening to them rather then facebook and twitter.

I don't get the concern about ventilators being in short supply... Didn't the Federal Liberals contract with a defeated Liberal MP to supply a bunch of new ones to the health system... I also thought all the provincial gov'ts ordered more... was this from the same newly formed company that the Feds ordered from????
maybe the Health system will balance its self..

So nobody read the article.Originally posted by Jay-mo View Posthttps://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/saskatoon-hospitals-hit-overcapacity-1.3464285 https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/saskatoon-hospitals-hit-overcapacity-1.3464285
Here's a bit of perspective. Make sure you note the date of the article.
Here's the crux and the spoiler:
From the article "Saskatoon's St. Paul's Hospital and Royal University Hospital are at a "critical overcapacity situation," according to the Saskatoon Health Region."
Spoiler: It's from February 2016
