    Hey sheepwheat

    Currently shearing.

Got a gun shearer on number one stand.

Today he was peeling them off ever 90 to 120 seconds.

$4 per sheep not bad spondoolee

Young man's gig? Competitive when working with others? Hard on the back? How long before they're looking for a career change? Any young ladies shearing?

You need to catch them in the dark, it’s really easy.

How steady do they work? Betcha ya wouldn’t want to tangle with anyone doing that kind of job.

We recently changed shearer’s got this new bunch previous guys had three of them basically 22 yrs and fourth shearer floating each year.

They ne guys ones a farmer the gun does it to supplement income clean living guy next guy about 10 % slower still quick hard living chap booze smokes then a beginner he does bout 160 a day. A farmers son then we’ve got a learner a 17 yr old he did 61 yesterday.

Two sorts of shearer’s either bulky powerfulstrong men or wirey type guys. We have two of each.

One of our pervious shearer’s started at 14 went till 68 did over a million sheep mostly in outback has a million shearing #tories as well.
170 per day multiply by say 48 weeks a year numbers add up

What are you shearing at that speed ewes or lambs?

Isnt very many shearers here that are full time. Mostly guys making some extra cash. Often a few foreigners do a circuit, had a NZ guy one time come to a friends and after seeing the ewes packed up and left. They were 300lb suffolk ewes, likely twice the size of what he was used to.
