Lots of roofs out there that can take solar panels too. Panels have been getting cheaper and more efficient.
They work best in dry warm sunny places but they work really well here too to reduce carbon emissions.
Saskpwer and the Saskparty must be wrong! LOL
I still don’t agree that solar power is a technological advancement as you portray it to be. Trains have been diesel electric for decades. The interesting question is if you looked at the worlds natural resources will we run out of fossil fuels first or elements like copper, cobalt, lithium?

Hammy have you heard of Canadian Solar headquartered in Guelph?
https://www.canadiansolar.com/aboutus/ https://www.canadiansolar.com/aboutus/
Here is a list of their worldwide projects they have been involved in:

Do Ford and GM make all their vehicles in the US? A big nope! Why not?
If Chinese manufacturing of solar panels bothers you have you looked at all the other products that are made in China and sold around the world? You probably have quite a lot of Chinese products!
Aren't capitalist supposed to go where the most profit can be made or do you not believe in capitalism and free trade anymore?
Yes we are at risk of running out of many things on earth including many elements, clean air, clean water, and a functioning ecosystem. So that's why we should recycle, conserve and preserve as much as possible.
You might want to be also concerned about the decline in phosphorous reserves. Because without cheap and easily available P agriculture will be short in the next few hundred years. What then?Last edited by chuckChuck; Nov 1, 2020, 10:18.

I didn’t start this thread just responding to the lies about solar. The original poster didn’t even mention it was a solar thermal project!

Abandoned oil wells are a big issue , and I don’t think anyone ever refuted that here .

Check this out: Prairiesunlight.com This outfit has developed the Vauxhall AB solar project that is up and running now. On the AESO website it is the Vauxhall project listed under biomass and other so you can see what it putting out. This project is visible from hwy 36 just north of the town. They claim that they can produce without subsidies so one can calculate the revenue. If they generate 1.5M per year in power sales would that make a $25M solar farm pay? Alberta still has the large emitters scam up and running so I am wondering if they can sell carbon credits under this program which I would consider a subsidy.
