Love the price, just hate the crop. Have had more struggles with that crop than anything else I have ever done. Piece of mind worth something too I guess.

In the mid 80’s we shipped 2 producer cars to Vancouver for $18.00 a bushel, flax has never been the same since the seed growers introduced Triffid.

Best is the kid. Getting him addicted early are ya? No wonder it's in some people's psyche, soul and every thread of the fabric that makes them up. Keep them safe.

        Take care man.
Ya she’s got a Kitty Cat in it. Hydro rotor drive is far from efficient but so darn nice when you’re plugging all the time. After growing up in a standard Massey 760 without a header reverser the cylinder wrench stayed polished regularly this thing is like a Cadillac for us.

Always trying to improve the safety here too. Enough crazy **** happens here without trying.

Days like that more than make up for crummy ones that seem to come along😎

I don’t post here often but I just must say I admire your optimism and enthusiasm. Your mentality will aid you and your children immensely in life. It is a welcome change from much of the regular negativity we see here.

            That’s quite a compliment.

I was quite negative and probably depressed off and on for the last couple years. Mostly it was related to the weather and how every decision I made seemed backwards and how things seemed to be slipping away from me. Always picking the wrong crops, insurance, marketing and Ma Nature slapping me in the head drug me down and then I kept rehashing it over and over. Finally last fall after making nearly every acre of hay into silage bales due to constant rain and having hardly any hay to sell that I needed to quit griping/moaning and not worry about it and other things beyond my control.

Turns out the grain and yearlings sold better than expected last winter. Then we upgraded the grain dryer and it took away the stress of harvest. Still have next to no hay for sale this year since it got chopped or rained on badly, cattle prices are down, grain yields were off 20 bushels from last year, and we’re still in the game.

Actually had thanksgiving supper today with my family and it’s the first time we had the crop off (not counting 30 acres of crummy second cut) since I met my wife 16 years ago. Felt strange to relax and enjoy it at a table instead of a tailgate😉

I have the most amazing wife who can pull me out of a negative spiral when I start slipping away. I am truly blessed to have her and a healthy happy family.

            Thanks farmboy

P.S. If anyone is down and out and needs someone to talk or vent to just pm me. I’ve been there and it’s highly overrated.

That’s a wrap the last local guys are all done.

See being a good neighbour isn’t that bad of a thing.

40 acres of hailed barley left. Lots of green. Extremely tough cutting. Knife rattling away expecting it to blow up soon. 1.4 mph. Might get it done tomorrow if knife and drive holds it together.

Happy to have finally had a couple good days again.

Need to bale straw yet, maybe put some posts in, but it sure looks like winter is coming two weeks early here. Maybe forecast will change.

Would be great to get a week of fall work in for once.
