The NOAA temperature map for June July and August shows most of the world above average.

Wetter here than it was last fall. Dugouts and sloughs higher than last fall. More rain last night. Rain the night before.

On one hand, thankful. On the other hand, I want to get my crop combined.

BTOs will use the latest funding from government to build or buy trailers for their TFW to live in....

More government policy to promote the larger farmer....FFS i cant buy N95 masks that I like to use for getting in a grain bin....the good kind with the breather in the front...sent my wife everywhere in the city the other day...she brings home a shitty fitting respirator...

I believe the D word appropriate for here would be Desirable, or Decent.
After raining every day all spring and much of the summer. Since late July we have only had about 3 inches of rain total. And it has taken this long to finally get back to somewhat normal. Dugouts still very full, water table still very high, standing water has mostly gone away. Low spots that were saturated for 2+ months after seeding, are growing now, in October.
Only area I have seen that suffered from lack of water is where gravel is too close to the surface. Had massive potential, but when the combines went over those spots, the yield monitor dropped by 50 to 100 bushels vs. the deeper soil areas. Crop looks the same from the combine, so heads just didn't fill without moisture.
Always better to go into spring dry than wet around here.
Fall of 2016 saw standing water everywhere, making spring of 2017 a nightmare. That didn't dry up until late July inspite of almost no rain.
