Is this an insurance play? Lol

Thinking maybe I can hide my swaths on the neighbour's field lol. Joking! Its green enough that if left standing the frost forecast for Tues morn would smoke it. Most likely in crop insurance claim position anyways for the 1st time ever but trying to preserve whatever pathetic yield I have.

Talk about a no win scenario. Some green enough to get hurt by a frost but could be saved if swathed before the 80kmh wind arrives.

Lose it to frost or wind, what a choice.

We let it stand, its not all cured but majorty of it is, but cant take a chance on that wind.

Hope the wind stays 60km or under or its going to be a mess. Plenty of swaths in my neighbourhood already are blown bad. Cut high as possible and rolled it tight but not much substance holding it down.

I've seen pod shatter canola swathed fairly ripe. Very fluffy and hard to pack. Prone to wind. A bit on the greener side and you can pack it down better.

              Just my opinion

The plan was to leave everything for straight cut its all podhatter resistant. Just cut the green late reseed but still could blow she's thin. The stuff the neighbour's cut weeks ago is in big trouble imo if we see 80kms. Wind just showed up while typing this coming from 300 degrees I cut everything 315. Standing flax in big trouble too reports of heavy boll drop.

We angle swathed like you. We started combining on canola yesterday...tough.
Tough start today too but moisture dropped hard and fast when it did come down.

With any luck it won't gust to 80. The special weather statement says it will but it seems it hasn't changed since it was issued but EnviroCan says.40-60. Who knows?.....

Check eight different fields yesterday(including neighbors, different varieties) all standing canola already had pods on the ground before this morning, gonna be a brutal day. Fields are all close to being ready to cut straight.
