    Pea yields

Holy crap how disappointing green water peas looked pretty good but 33 and a shitshow to cut flat on the ground never grow those again.
Yellows 35 stood up better but at 6 bucks and change yikes. And still have the bad fields to do. So what the hell will they be

Needs to be a realignment in inputs and what we’re getting it’s a gong show.

It's obvious you never spent enough on the crop......

Root rot? Cant seed yellow peas here anymore because of it. Can cut yeilds in half like nothing.

Not way out here... 35 is a yield worth screaming through a megaphone in the special areas.

The 8-year rule works for the time between pea crops.

We had an 80 acre pea field hail adjusted yesterday, the patches that we left.. About 31% damage, all yeild loss no quality issues. They were too mature to suffer quality issues, hit pods simply opened. So that knocked the yeild down on that poor quality soil.
The other two fields were better, as far as Ghetto yields go.

When all is said and done it will be an average crop that all the experts talked up to a massive huge mega crop only to again look like fools for killing grain Markets with bullshit reports.

Maybe get out in the field and drive around and not just handpick spots to stop.

These fields looked 50 plus, small seeds light seeds. Just starting the fields that look 20 bushels today so expecting 10 to 15. These are the fields that viper damage occurred. Once the viper weakens the plant any even slightly out of normal weather and yield is gone.
The yield most commonly heard from neighbors in our area is 25 bushels this year. Didn’t pay to get out of bed to seed for that yield.

                  Rotations are 7 years plus.

Viper if conditions are not perfect (Same as the Canola Dome) it does do something to plants. Left a strip a mile long last year and yes 20 plus difference.

Fields look good but will be less than last year in our area.

I told Tom Warkentin at a regional pulse meeting that if they don't breed is some resistance for the root rot complex and aphanomyces the other traits they're breeding for are almost worthless. Don't know if he liked it or not but its true.

I would rather see disease tolerance in the genes than coming out of a chemical jug!!!

Now wouldn't that be a good place to spend our non-refundable levy dollars?!?!?!

Excellent idea...but how do you convince the masters at the chemical company to go along with that idea??????

The saskpulse directors love their sprayers. Its a feel good thing...

and isn’t it about time for some new chemicals in pulses that are more safer on the crop and do a better job on the weeds? I mean really all this money we spend surely there must be something they can make better?
