This should be supportive of western Canadian feed barley. Also hearing now that haying is way behind due to weather, any hay shortage will boast feed barley even higher, maltsters won't be competitive again this year.

It should support prices, but whether or not it will translate into higher prices remains to be seen.
The cattle business isn't all that rosy right now. Corn futures flat to lower today

Longer term the deal hasn't made any difference. Corn growth progress is average, much better than last year. Forecasts are for a lot more US corn to be harvested in 2020-21

The US grinds more corn in a day than the China sale for the current crop year.

Not to minimize the size of the sale though. It is significant. 4th largest daily sale announcement on record since 1977

Sure would be nice to know the daily sales of Canadian grain to the world besides finding out after the fact.

He is playing 4-D chess while skippy is eating crayons at a WE conference.

So Donald made the grain deal with China? And their trading relationship is back to normal? LOL

At least Trudeau didn't say Covid is a hoax or that injecting bleach or lysol should be looked at as a treatment!

Do you not pay attention to what Donald says? Trudeau is not the brightest but Donald is a "moron" according to Rex Tillerson the former secretary of state.

Politics aside, if Donald is playing 4D chess then you would be the one of the few people who think he is smart or clever.

Maybe corn will help pull wheat along too.

Parts of China being washed away by heavy rains, dams bursting. No idea if the extent is severe or minimal. But could be the reason for a surge in buying?

Lots of devastation shown in this twitter feed:
